Learn More About Therapy With Me
Navigating mental health challenges can feel overwhelming, especially when multiple systems, diagnoses, or life stressors intersect. You or your family may be managing emotional distress, relationship strain, or uncertainty about what comes next. Therapy can provide a supportive space to slow down, feel heard, and begin building stability.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges, including serious mental illness, trauma, neurodivergence, and crisis-related concerns. My approach is grounded in compassion and collaboration, focusing on helping clients develop coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen relationships.
Sessions are paced with care and intention, meeting each client and family where they are while working toward meaningful, sustainable change.
About Carrie Thomas, B.S., MSW Intern
Hi, I’m Carrie Thomas, a Master of Social Work intern with approximately 10 years of experience in social services. I’m deeply passionate about supporting children, adolescents, families, and individuals navigating complex mental health challenges.
My professional background includes case management and extensive work with diverse populations, including individuals living with HIV/AIDS, members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder, as well as clients experiencing suicidal ideation. I also have experience supporting individuals with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and am a certified paralegal, which gives me a systems-informed perspective and strengthens my ability to advocate for clients facing legal, social, and structural barriers. My therapeutic approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and nonjudgmental, with a focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients and families feel empowered and understood.
When I’m not in session, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and exploring new places through travel.
