When 'I'm Fine' Starts to Feel Like a Lie

You’re showing up — for work, for your family, for everyone else. But somewhere along the way, you stopped showing up for yourself.

Maybe the anxiety has gotten quieter but never actually gone away. Maybe you’ve been carrying something heavy for so long it just feels normal. Or maybe you genuinely don’t know why you feel the way you do — you just know something needs to change.

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not broken. You’re just overdue for real support.

Individual Therapy

What Individual Therapy Can Help With

Our licensed therapists work with adults and teens across a wide range of mental health concerns. You don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from therapy — you just need to be ready to do the work.

Anxiety & Stress

Persistent worry, racing thoughts, panic attacks, social anxiety, burnout, and the feeling that you're always bracing for the next thing. Therapy helps you understand where it's coming from — and how to stop letting it run your life.

Depression & Low Mood

Numbness, disconnection, loss of motivation, difficulty getting out of bed, or feeling like nothing matters. Whether it's a long-standing struggle or something that crept up recently, depression is treatable — and you don't have to white-knuckle your way through it alone.

Trauma & PTSD

Childhood experiences, abuse, accidents, loss, relationship betrayal, racial trauma, or anything that left a mark that hasn't healed. We use evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, and somatic techniques to help you process trauma safely without having to relive every detail.

Life Transitions & Identity

Career changes, divorce, moves, loss of a relationship, becoming a parent, questioning your identity — major transitions can destabilize even the most grounded people. Therapy gives you a steady space to figure out who you are and what you want next.

Relationship Issues

Patterns of people-pleasing, conflict avoidance, difficulty setting boundaries, codependency, attachment struggles, or the aftermath of a painful relationship. We help you understand your patterns and build healthier ones — even in your relationship with yourself.

Grief & Loss

The death of someone you loved. The end of a relationship. A dream you had to let go of. Grief is not linear, and it doesn't follow a timeline. Therapy provides a space where you don't have to pretend to be over it.

Anger, Self-Esteem & Identity

Chronic irritability, shame, self-criticism, low confidence, or feeling like you don't know who you are outside of what you do for others. Individual therapy helps you reconnect with yourself and rebuild from the inside out.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care

We provide affirming, judgment-free therapy for LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating identity, relationships, family dynamics, and the unique stressors that come with living in a world that doesn't always make space for you.

WHO WE ARE

What Starts to Shift When You Do This Work

Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken. It’s about clearing away what’s been getting in the way so you can actually live your life.

Over time, clients often notice:

🩵 Waking up without that tight feeling in your chest
🩵 Saying no without the guilt spiral that follows🩵 Actually being present with people you love — not just physically there
🩵 Quieter self-criticism and more room for self-compassion
🩵 A clearer sense of who you are and what you actually want
🩵 Feeling grounded when things get hard, instead of spinning out
🩵 Relationships that feel more honest and less exhausting

You don’t have to earn the right to feel better. You just have to be willing to start.

Yes — research consistently shows that virtual therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, and most other mental health concerns. For many clients, the privacy and convenience of online sessions actually make it easier to open up.

We’re in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Magellan, UnitedHealthcare, Lyra, and BWS Health. Many clients pay only their standard copay. Private pay rates are also available. Visit our Pricing & Insurance page or contact us and we’ll verify your coverage before your first session.

Therapy is a clinical, licensed process that addresses mental health conditions and their underlying causes. Coaching is goal-focused and not regulated in the same way. At The Empowering Space, our individual therapy is conducted by licensed mental health professionals — not coaches. We also offer coaching services separately if that’s a better fit for your goals.

It happens, and it’s okay. Fit matters. If you don’t feel like your therapist is the right match, let us know and we’ll help you transition to someone else on our team at no additional charge.
