Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’ve been carrying anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional pain on your own for a long time. My approach is grounded in the belief that you are the expert of your own life. Therapy is a collaborative process where we move at your pace, focusing on your strengths, lived experiences, and inner wisdom. I often work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, identity questions, grief, and life transitions, helping them reconnect with stability and self-trust.

You don’t need to show up with everything figured out. Therapy with me is very much a “come as you are” space.

About Candace L. Cooper, MSW, LSW

Hi, I’m Candace, a Licensed Social Worker with over five years of experience in social work and more than three years providing therapy. My work is rooted in a person-centered philosophy, meaning I see you as the authority on your life, and I walk alongside you as a collaborator rather than an expert telling you what to do.

I work primarily with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, identity and self-esteem concerns, grief, childhood trauma, and spiritual or religious questions. I’m also deeply committed to LGBTQIA+ affirming care and culturally responsive practice.

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion. I draw from a blend of evidence-based approaches to support the whole person, emotionally, mentally, and relationally. Taking the first step toward therapy is often the hardest part, and if you’re here, you’re already doing something brave.
