Learn More About Therapy With Me

Grief, loss, and major life transitions can feel overwhelming, isolating, and deeply personal. Whether you’re navigating the loss of a loved one, a cherished pet, or adjusting to a significant change, you deserve space to process your experience with care and understanding.

I believe grief in all its forms deserves validation and compassion. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in creating emotional safety. Together, we work to build coping skills, emotional resilience, and a sense of stability during challenging moments.

For children and families, I use developmentally informed and trauma-informed strategies that support emotional expression, regulation, and a sense of security during times of transition.

About Sarah Mayfield, MSW (Candidate)

Hi, I’m Sarah, a Master of Social Work candidate with a deep passion for supporting children, families, and individuals through grief, loss, and life’s most emotionally challenging moments. My work is especially informed by my experience in veterinary social work, where I supported individuals coping with the loss of beloved pets and families navigating acute stress and trauma.

I believe grief—whether related to a person, a pet, or a major life change—deserves space, validation, and compassion. I strive to meet clients where they are, honoring their unique experiences while supporting emotional resilience and growth.

With a background in allied health and early childhood through elementary education, I bring a holistic, developmentally informed lens to my work with children and families. I’m especially drawn to supporting young clients using age-appropriate, trauma-informed strategies that foster emotional safety and regulation.

Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my family, cuddling with my English Bulldogs, boxing, and exploring great food. These moments keep me grounded and reflect my belief in balance, connection, and self-care. I’m honored to walk alongside clients during their healing journey.
