Meet Lindsay Jacobsen, BSW
Hello! My name is Lindsay, and I am currently attending UTA to complete my advanced year in the Master of Social Work program where my focus is on mental health. After graduation I plan on continuing on to clinical licensing for therapy in Texas. I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 2007, where I studied visual art education and psychology. I have always had a passion for learning about behavioral neuroscience, therapeutic approaches, and the history of human understanding of the mind. When I am not studying, you will find me with my two beautiful rescue dogs, baking, painting, or creating digital drawings.
I believe each person to be unique, and it is my goal to meet you where you are in your life. Through a collaborative, empathetic, non-judgmental relationship I aim to support and guide you through your therapeutic journey. Every individual has their own set of strengths and resources and together we will uncover and utilize them to achieve your goals. My approach includes the utilization of many evidence-based techniques while incorporating empathy, compassion, mindfulness, and humor. My areas of interest are grief counseling (including pets), anxiety, depression, social anxiety, behavior modification, and managing stress.
I am so happy to be here and continuing to learn and grow with you!
Note: Lindsay is a Master of Social Work Intern and can see clients for a reduced rate of $30 per session. Lindsay is under the direct clinical supervision of owner Brittany Woodley, LCSW-S.
