Hello, my name is Patrick Vamboi. I am originally from Sierra Leone and am currently in the final stages of completing my Master of Social Work at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am passionate about my work as an intern at the Empowering Space, where I am gaining valuable experience in advanced practice. My path to social work is deeply influenced by my own experiences and the challenges I have observed in the lives of others close to me.
I understand the feelings of hopelessness, the sense of being a burden, and the struggle of living without family support. I know how heavy neglect can feel, the enduring scars of conflict, and the lasting trauma that follows. Having witnessed the effects of substance abuse on friends and loved ones, I realize how isolating it can be to think that no one truly understands your challenges.
These experiences have inspired me to pursue a career in social work. I am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals can share their stories, feel heard, and find hope. Whether you are navigating issues related to substance use, trauma, or the myriad challenges of life, I am here to listen with empathy, validate your feelings, and help you uncover your inner strength and resilience.
My goal is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives, providing guidance and support at every step of the way. In my free time, I enjoy reading, reflecting, and exploring ways to connect my experiences and education to effect meaningful change.
Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your journey. Together, we can work towards healing, growth, and a brighter future.
